IPL 2024: Records Topple As Mayank Yadav Shines With 3/14 In RCB vs LSG Match


Mayank Yadav records in IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav’s fiery spell was enough to outclass Royal Challengers Benguluru (RCB) in LSG vs RCB IPL 2024 match number 15 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday (April 2). Chasing 182 for the win, Royal Challengers Benguluru (RCB) managed to reach 153.

Mayank Yadav ended up with figures of 3 wickets for 14 runs from his four overs. His spell was instrumental in bowling out Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for 153 after Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) managed 181 runs for loss of 5 wickets.

Mayank delivered a stunning blow to Glenn Maxwell with a searing 151 KMPH short-pitched delivery, leading to the RCB star’s dismissal as he was caught out. Continuing his top quality pace bowling, Mayank then bowled out Cameron Green for just 9 with a well-placed good length ball. The premier pacer bagged his third wicket by dismissing Rajat Patidar, who attempted a pull shot but failed to control it, resulting in a top-edge and his departure for 29 runs.

Mayank Yadav has created history in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by becoming the first cricketer to win two consecutive Player-of-the-Match awards in his first two matches. 

Mayank Yadav broke his own record by bowling a delivery at 156.7 KMPH against RCB. Earlier, Mayank, in his debut IPL game against PBKS, bowled a delivery at 155.8 KMPH to Shikhar Dhawan. The rising pacer-bowling sensation bowled one of the quickest bowling spells in IPL.

In his two IPL matches thus far, Mayank has picked 6 wickets for just 41 runs from 8 overs, making him the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL 2024, thus far. All six of Mayank’s wickets have come from dismissing top-order batters.

Mayank has now become the 6th bowler in IPL history to achieve three or more wicket hauls in each of their first two IPL matches. 

Mayank Yadav has bowled the 4th-fastest delivery in IPL history.
